Custom hardware

Devices that do what you need, and nothing else

AEGIS SYSTEMS builds devices to a specification: radio modules with long range, sensors, enclosures and electronics for one particular job. No telemetry, no subscription, built to be repaired. Components are billed openly and the labour is agreed in advance.

Fair pricing for any budget. A fixed quote before work starts.

Some requirements no mass-produced device covers: a sensor somewhere Wi-Fi does not reach, a device that must not send data anywhere, or an enclosure for equipment that has none. That is what this is for.

How it works

  1. The requirement

Describe what the device has to do and the conditions it runs in. Range, power, environment, privacy constraints.

  2. Feasibility and parts

What is available and what it costs is researched and shown to you. Parts are bought wherever they are cheapest, in the quantity your job needs. Labour is itemised separately.

  3. Build

Assembly, firmware and, where needed, a 3D-printed enclosure made in house.

  4. Handover

With documentation of what is inside, so somebody else can repair the device later.

Typical building blocks

  • Long-range radio modules for distances Wi-Fi will not cover
  • Sensors and microcontroller platforms
  • Enclosures from our own 3D printing, fitted rather than adapted

What drives the price

  • Material cost, shown openly, not folded into a margin
  • Labour for assembly, firmware and testing. Everything is built by hand, in Germany
  • Whether an enclosure has to be designed and printed
  • Quantity: a second unit costs less than the first

Common questions

What does a custom device cost?
Material cost and labour are billed separately, itemised and agreed in advance. Every device is built by hand here, so there is no middleman whose markup you are also paying for.
Does the device collect data about me?
No. There is no telemetry, no forced account and no subscription. What the device sends, and where, is written in the documentation.
Can I repair it myself later?
That is the intent. You get a list of the parts inside so a repair does not depend on us.
How long does it take?
Production starts as soon as your order is in the system. Nothing sits in a queue. Once the piece is finished it goes out for delivery. How long the making itself takes depends on the scope and is stated in the quote before you agree to it.
